While the Model T railcar is an interesting and fun addition to the WW&F's roster, it also has an operational function. It is expected that, after operators are trained, it will be used on summer weekdays to offer museum visitors a chance to see the railroad and experience two-foot gauge rail travel. Track maintenance personnel may also use it to reach work sites, a function the prototype car served on the Sandy River & Rangeley Lakes RR. It may also pull the railroad's fire car, following the steam train on days of high fire danger. Finally, it may also be used to supplement the passenger train as needed.
