Steve, my wife and I rode while the "D&RG" the weekend before the C&T 40th party.
I can't speak highly enough of the trip or Mr. Shank. First class in all respects. I can't wait to do it again.
Of course, the trip is made in a glorified motor car, not luxurious by most standards. But the trip, the scenery, the history lesson, and lunch (at a trackside cafe) were truly first class. Mr Shank was a gracious, friendly host. His long-term plans for the railroad are inspiring... to say the least.
I've got a lot of video and a ton of pictures and will post them on my site in the next 3-4 weeks. It's going to take me a while to edit the 7,500 pictures and 60 gigs of HD video we collected on our 12 day tour of the NG Circle.
If you haven't visited the D&RG in South Fork I HIGHLY recommend it. You won't be disappointed. My wife is a marginal railfan (at best) and she had a great time. Being a DRGW fan I had a BLAST.
