Narrow gauge street running question

As an example i'll use the D&RGW's Chili Line into Santa Fe.
If the tracks are embedded into the pavement, how would they switch the track? Where is the switch-post located if so?
Now I don't know if the street running even had switches of some sort but I assume they atleast had one.
