I do strongly disagree. This is one of the most important points, as
Ian has pointed out in the first thread.

If there are more than one camera used in the same scene, it's
very important that they all do manual white balance.

I _do_ recommend setting it to AWB, when leaving the location, and then setting manual white balance again at the next location.

I guess, most people plan to use their camera on auto anyways (maybe using the backlight compensation button if required in a scene)

Personally I prefer the Av mode, depending on the scene with 5.6 or 8.0 with a small sensor or 8.0-11.0 for a big sensor.

For a small sensor the image quality degrades earlier (from about 8.0) whereas for a big sensor later (from about 11.0) because of diffraction.

Why shoot Full HD, when it is SD on the DVD?
Easy answer: the master should have the best quality available.
Same arguments holds for 59.94fps
24/25/30 fps are one of the biggest shortcomings of TV standards today, because they don't allow smooth recording of motion and having a short shutter speed at the same time.
With 60fps (and at some point in the future this will be more widely supported), most people see motion as smooth (even with 1/1000s shutter time)
