Re: Omaha Zoo locomotives

We visited the zoo Railroad in 1994 and its a segment in our "America By Rail-The Heartland" video. Neat little arrangement...the U.P. paid for a shop for them. The Austrian engine put on quite a show leaving the depot/shop area after taking on water. It really does Bark loudly on that curve and grade. Crews are friendly as well.
The 119 was in the shop and the proud crew had to pull it out for at least a quick video shot for us, but the more powerful Austrian engine was indeed doing all the hard work that day. Worth a visit to see Real Steam at the zoo!!! It gives a new meaning to "This chase is a real zoo!"
