After reading the concerns over the past few day's, regarding the list of members on the scheduled train for the 30th of august. One thing upset me the most was the arguing associated with who truly was a volunteer or not during the year of 1970. We have truly gotten away from the most important matter of all. The 40th anniversary. Now if i was correct this event was to celebrate the 40 years of continues operation the railroad has endured. Now lets see, would the railroad existed to day if there were no paid employees in 1971 to build appropriate passenger/converted box cars. What about the volunteers that saved 463, today the C&TSRR would be short one engine if not for there efforts. Have the friends and there efforts been ignored. My point is why are we grumbling and complaining about who worked what year. Yes the volunteers of 1970 were beneficial in saving the railroad. But what about the employees of 1971? Were there efforts even beneficial. They built appropriate passenger cars, thus providing revenue for the railroad to live. We must remember that the events in the following month are not just about one group of men and women. But the hole lot of individuals who have donated there time and efforts to keeping the railroad alive for the past 40 years. I my self would like to meet all the men and women who have dedicated there time and efforts, before there stories vanish entirely .I thank all the employees and volunteers over the past 40 years. Who have dedicated their skills and life's to the railroad they love.
Feel free to add your comments.
Hope to see you at the 40th
