Hi, Andy -
The list that was provided to me does
NOT cover the TRAIN crews once operations started in
earnest with the first movements of equipment to Chama to clear the single track in Antonito
so that the first yard could be constructed. Other than the Governor of New Mexico and three
members of the two state legislatures - without whom the railroad simply would not exist - it's
a list of the mostly volunteer TRACK crews who cleared and rebuilt the railroad line during the
Summer of 1970, and it's these Volunteers whom were hoping to recognize and honor with the
re-enactment train on August 30, and to thank for their hard work and sacrifice. Several of them,
like Richard Braden and Jeff Stebbins did eventually become employees; most of them did not.
