And in spite of having to bear a chubby bear from time to time, it's very unlikely to fall down.
As you can see from this October, 1962 Tom Gildersleeve photo, the main girders are HUGE:
IIRC, after the trestle was strengthened during the mid-Twenties upgrade of the D&RGW's narrow-gauge lines, it was capable of supporting double-headed K-28's - but not double-headed K-36's & -37's, which came later. I'm not sure about a K-28 plus a K-36 or K-37, but there is/was a big safety margin with just one engine.
It appears that the ties - which are apparently what burned last night - are the usual 8" or so wide but about 16" tall.
