In May of 1978 the D&RGW crew put a new paint job on 473 which included removing many coats of paint from the sand dome bands and lots of Brasso and elbow grease to make them shine again. I thought it looked kinda cool. At least it showed a little pride in what they were doing. I recall by 79-80 they had been painted black again.
Lets start a drive to get Harper to paint 473 Grande Gold again!!
"Bumble Bee in Two-thousand Three (2003)"!!!!!!
Sounds like a project for Fred over in Bayfield.
