As I recall, the rotary was used one time on the Silverton. They found out that the slides contained trees and rocks. After that, the rotaries were kept off the Silverton.

Fallen snow, like on Cumbres, is easy for the rotaries with little risk of damage to them. Snow slides with trees and rocks can quickly damage the rotaries.
