This question about helpers didn't draw my attention until I saw a distinct demarcation on the photo that goes from the bottom up to right between two cars a few in front of the helper. Do you see how the shadows are different in the foreground?
I know Otto Perry was "eccentric", but could he have faked this negative just so we could wonder about mid train vs rear train engines 53 years later?
