Looking at old photos, the earliest photos show it with a diamond stack and later photos (circa 1909) show it with a straight stack. OK, that makes sense. But when it was donated to Colorado Springs, it was put on display with a diamond stack...
...but at some point while it was on dispaly, it was converted back to a straight stack...
...and it was that configuration when it headed to Antonito for restoration.
Anybody know when that conversion took place on the display locomotive? When I was living in the Springs in the 60s-70s I don't recall which configuration it had, though I'm sure I have a photo somewhere.
Just wonderin'.
