Hi, Brian -

Several of 786's brake shoes got a nice tour of Texas in February, 1976 - we used them to
replace some worn shoes on ex-T&P #610 prior to her first stint pulling the Freedom Train.
Andy and Dick were so tired after working all day that they passed out on the tender deck
at about 3:00 a.m., and I had to fire for Doyle until after sunrise. I had been #610's hostler
for a few days, but had never fired out on the road before ...
