Well, I guess technically so. I wasn't sure if Craig was referring to the original SRR boxcars of D&RG/RGW heritage or the ex SG&N cars that were built new for the SG&N.
So yes, 5 of the ex SG&N cars were supposed to still be on the property in 1938, although I think (My Rainbow Route copy is 3000 miles away at the moment...) that they were out of service for years at that point. I seem to remember that at one point, only 2 were still listed in service, and I think that had been years before. But, I could be confusing that with the earlier cars.
In any case, since you brought those cars up, besides the two that still exist today (2003 and 2007 if I remember right), at least one survived for many years later in Silverton, but is gone now. Fritz Klinke or someone else posted something to that effect a while back.
So, in summary, I think here is what we have for surviving equipment for the three silverton lines.
Boiler-SG&N 32
SRR Baggage Car #5
SRR/SNN Boxcar
SG&N/SN 2003
SG&N/SN 2007
SRR Caboose 17
Casey Jones Railbus
SN Coach 4-if not destroyed since last year (Does anyone have photos???)
I would no longer count the two cars that were with the boiler of SG&N 32. I suppose one could reconstruct the cars from sawdust if they used a whole lot of glue but...
Thanks,
Grant
