The first work train left Silverton this morning at 11:30, having arrived a short time before. It had diesel #11, 2 flat cars and 2 cabooses. The train ran up to Blair street and all the major sidings are clear of snow. The storm yesterday left a negligible amount of snow.
Reports on the Jeep roads indicate a much lower level of snow this year and the road above Eureka is plowed half way to Animas Forks. So access to the high country, at least in our county, will be several weeks ahead of normal.
