After a short visit to the AZER shops in Bixby for inspection, the plan is to get it on the Copper Spike train for next weeks operation. The engine will be facing west (north towards Phoenix), coupled behind will be the ex-ATSF dome car, then the Southern Rwy coach and the rear car being the Calumet Club.
For the trips on Sat and Sun, second weekend in May, the train will be facing the same direction. The fares for the rides in Safford are $12.00 for adults and $6.00 for kid 12 and under.
The Safford train will run between Safford and Pima, AZ.
Official dedication of the engine will be on April 31st, with ribbon cutting by Arizona Congresswoman Anne Kirkpatrick, at 12 noon at the Globe Depot.
For regular runs on the Copper Spike, we are contemplating offering a cab ride.
Special sunset-cocktail trips are being planned for April, running between Globe and San Carlos in the early evening.
Hope to see some E-8 fans before we shut down.
