D&S Washout

This afternoon I drove to the 9500 foot level of Missionary Ridge Road (La Plata County Road 230). I photographed the D&S washout site across the valley shooting with a Nikon D850 (45.7 megapixels) using a Nikon 200-600 mm lens. Shot most at 600mm with a few at 200mm to show the entire area. For those of you familiar with the area, the washout is just north of the gray apartment buildings on the west side of Highway 550 north of Honeyville. I put lines on the overall view, the yellow shows the D&S track with the washout in the center, the red line shows Highway 550 below. If you look closely you can see a CAT dozer or front end loader on the extreme right side of the photos. The track has been removed from the washout area.
