Re: bulkhead flat #6527

Hi,

Thanks for the photo. Down South here, Bulk head flats are/were most usually used for moving pulp wood.

Looking at the loaded bulk head flat, I was wondering if a loads-in-empties out set up could be used.

The bulkhead flat with load could be shoved into or behind a building in the lumber yard and left. Afterwards, an empty would be pulled out and returned. For instance 4526 could be modeled as the load and 4527 could be the empty.

1) if the mill where the "wood load" is manufactured had some buildings, the empty could be shoved between or into the buildings and the load than pulled out.

2) If there is a transfer facility (like Alamosa), maybe some sort of sneak off track that would disappear into the scenery would be possible.

Food for thought.
