Over at Railpictures.net,
Doug Boudrow is busy posting photographs of the charter Pete Lerro ran this week in Tennessee and Georgia.
We spent Monday in Chattanooga on Tennessee Valley Railroad (TVRR) museum property. On Tuesday, we ran from the museum to Summerville, Georgia and return over the Genesee & Wyoming's Chattooga and Chickamauga Railway (CCKY).
On Tuesday, the train was pulled by the TVRR's Tennessee Alabama & Georgia Railway GP38. At runby locations, the diesel and two coaches were cut off. Using the diesel saved coal and water, allowed the steam locomotives to face south (into the sun) all day long and saved us time since the steam locomotives did not have to be turned at Summerville.
