CRS: D&RGW Tank 7 at milepost 250+

April 08, 2016 10:07AM
D&RGW Tank 7 at about milepost 250+ on the Marshall Pass line was fully intact and in reasonably good shape when I last saw it in the mid 1970's. A friend and I pitched out tents near the tank one year when we took his brother to his first year at Western State College, so I know it was there in what I vaguely remember was 1976 or 1977. The tank is gone now, victim of a lightning strike, but the footings are still there as evidenced by Google Earth. I was just informed I am wrong, that the tank was removed/destroyed sometime in the 1960's. Do I have CRS, or do others remember the tank in place well into the 1970's?
