Folks,
On Tuesday and Wednesday, September 5th and 6th, I participated in the RGS 455 re-creation photo event, organized by the Friends of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. Other folks have already described the charter operations in a fair amount of detail and posted some of the prettiest scenes from that trip, so I won't bore you by repeating all of that. Suffice it to say that the Friends, the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad and the Durango Railroad Historical Society all did themselves proud putting on this event. The train looked great, the crew performed superbly, the photo locations were well-planned, and the train patrons were provided with best on-board accommodations that I have seen on a charter of this type. It didn't hurt that mother nature also cooperated pretty well from a meteorological standpoint. I personally shot about 1,700 frames over two days, so I have had more than enough to keep me occupied for the last week.
I've put together a Flickr album showing scenes from most of the photo locations as well as some yard shots. In it, you'll see my versions of the sunrise stuff, but also some locations that haven't yet been shown. Clicking on the link below will take you to the album. You can then either click on the individual photos, or just bring up the first one and use the right/left arrows to page through the entire set. In the lower right corner of any image, there is also an icon that will allow you to show them full screen. Hopefully, you'll find at least a few that you like.

Thanks in advance for looking, and a big thank-you to all of the organizations and volunteers who made this trip possible!
