I don't think I'd say that. #12 does get bashed around here as if she were a an 0-4-0t or something. She has 15,000lbs of TE. Not a lot, but not that bad. At 41t, she's larger than most of the 2-8-0s in Colorado...much newer...and she has a relatively large grate area and a total heating area comparable to locomotives with greater tractive effort. Perhaps she needs some work, but she was a nice locomotive that came from a railroad with high equipment standards (the Kahului RR).
