I am about to make a rather large loan of historical railroad paraphernalia to a small, nearby historical institution. The loan is comprised of mostly Texas railroading history, such as MKT timeboards, T&P china, AT&SF advertisements etc. etc., all of which being part of my grandfather's considerable collection. They'll be displayed in a former Santa Fe station that the historical village moved on site. Now, this station was meant to tell visitors of the history of the railroads in the area, but it's one of the more lacking areas, and is mostly empty due to the most significant donor of railroad artifacts withdrawing his contributions. So, I thought it would be a great idea to make the revamping of the depot display my internship project. If the historical village accepts, I'll be tasked with laying it all out. Does anyone here have any experience with arranging museum exhibits and have any suggestions on what the best way to go about it is?
