Her saddles broke or well has a good crack in it. She was in cowboy terms ridin hard and put away wet. I do believe they knew about it but knew she'd be a big repair job back then so they used her up. (could be wrong) Sad. What is the status guys on her? Are they ever going to get her fixed? Got the shop to do the work now, right? Still hoping they get her done before my great uncle passes. I'd drive him from Alamosa myself to see his favorite little engine. He was crushed to see her on display with parts missing. I had to get him in the 73's cab to make him feel better. You know guys it's awsome to see and even feel the energy of that moment. tho he enjoys reading in the cinco now when invited to, you can almost feel him reliving working in the cab at the engineers seat. He turned to me and my wife and said something bout how he hated the 73 and 78 for that "STUPID" power reverse. I took him to Franciscos and presented to him the drawing of the 76 with the dimond stack all framed nice. He said I need to stop making him want to cry. HIS MY HERO!
