To answer more of Ken's questions, The mine is located about 10 miles south at No Agua next to the old Chili Line grade. It is an open pit quarry operation where they dig the perlite out of the side of a big hill. The raw perlite is trucked to Antonito where it is processed and loaded into covered hoppers for shipment. There are two plants in Antonito one owned by Harborlite, the other by Dicaperl. Harborlite is located at end of track and Dicaperl is north of them. Dicaperl has been shut down for a few years now. It's quarry is next to Harborlite at No Agua. Harborlite's business is a significant percentage of the SLRG's tonnage.
