According to the D&RG Roster done by CRRM back in 1963, the Class 70
(C-19) engines converted to SG were done in 1888-1889 when the D&RG was really short of SG power and the first SG 2-8-0s were basically the same size as the Class 70 engines. The same source indicates that the engines were converted back to NG in 1899-1900 before the Farmington branch was built. The engines involved were 401(345), 402(341), 405(349), 410(342) and 411(RGS 40).
