More photos? Just a few ...
Ernie Robart has more than
9,000 slides taken during the last few years of the D&RGW's
operations between Alamosa and Durango & Farmington and the first few years of the C&TS.
He sent me about sixty of them a couple of years ago to be scanned for inclusion in Volume
Two of the former 'Help Save #483' screen saver, Volume One of which Roger and The Friends
were marketing for a few years. Ernie has tentatively committed to showing about one percent
of his vast collection during the 40th Birthday Celebration next year, as part of a presentation
on the rescue & resuscitation of the Narrow Gauge Over Cumbres. This will probably be held
one evening in Chama and the next evening in Antonito, if suitable venues can be arranged
...
I'm still working on Volume II of the Screen Saver, which will hopefully be ready in time for the 40th Birthday Celebration next year, and which will eventually be marketed to help pay for the restoration of a K-37. (
Only $20, and
ALL of the profits will go first to next year's celebration and after that to the K-37 rebuild.)
I've posted a few of Ernie's pics from time to time, and a couple of mine, but am going to save most of them for Volume II of the screen saver.
