Believe this loco also was at one time was at Huckleberry RR at Flint. A sister engine to our #2 & #17.

Our #2 Built by H.K. Porter Co., Pittsburgh, PA. in 1911. Builders NR 4841. Class C-2-T-1, Light Weight 2-6-0 Mogul locomotive. Built for United Fruit Company, (Cia Agricola [Agricultural Company]) as their Nr 1 at Bananera, Guatemala. 36" Gauge, 10"x 16" cylinders, Stephenson Valve Gear, slide valves, 33" drivers, 18" truck wheels. Weight of engine and tender in working order 53,000 lbs., engine alone 36,000 lbs. 170 psi boiler pressure. Tractive effort 7,000#. Rated 65 tons hauling capacity on 3% grade. Originally an oil burner and equipped with steam jam brake. Purchased by Elliott Donnelley in 1961, shipped to Hill City, S.D. Arrived about May 30, 1962 in derelict condition, with major running gear work (including new tires) required, and a
boiler deemed beyond restoration. Lasker Boiler & Engineering Co. in Chicago built a new National Board ASME code riveted boiler in 1964 and converted for coal firing at the same time, and the running gear was sent to the CB&Q Clyde Shop in Cicero, IL for necessary work. Arrived at Hesston in July 1966, repiped and converted to air brakes (6ET) in 1968. First used at the Labor Day show in 1968. New pistons and piston rods made and the cylinders rebored in March 1970. New brake rigging was installed August 1971, and new tenderwheels were installed by the South Shore Railroad shop in March 1974.Our regular weekend excursion engine for many years. Undergoing running gear repairs at the time of the 1985 fire. Undergoing repair -- including a new all welded code boiler. Operation expected for her 100th birthday in 2011.

Our SECOND Porter Mogul --
Built by H. K. Porter Co., Pittsburgh, Pa in 1920. Builders Nr 6580 Class C-2 Medium Weight 2-6-0 Mogul locomotive. Also built for Cia Agricola as their Nr 17 at Bananera, Guatemala. 36" Gauge,12"x 16" cylinders, 36" drivers, 24" truck wheels. Weight of engine and tender 75,400 lbs. in working order, and engine alone 45,500 lbs. 170 psi boiler pressure. Tractive effort 9,250 lbs. Rated 90 tons hauling capacity on 3% grade. Also an oil burner with steam jamb brakes. Will be converted to coal firing and air brakes at Hesston. On exhibit at Gilmore Auto Museum near Kalamazoo, Mi for 30 years. Purchased in the fall of 2000. Boiler removed, some running gear work has been performed, awaiting funding for a new all welded code boiler and other needed repairs.
