Here is a set of photos taken at Queen, NV. This was the last stop northbound for water until Basalt on the other side of the pass. The water was obtained from a spring located in the hills to the north (the route of the pipeline is still visible). At one time there was a small community here including a General Store. The "Then" photo is courtesy of Ron Grau and has a date written on it of 1845, most likely this is 1895. The "Now" photo was taken on Sept. 28, 2013. If you visit Queen you can still see the footings for the tank, what appears to be a dugout cellar, and lots of cinders littering the ground from the short period when the C&C was coal fired.
