I just received a K-36 in 1:22.5 scale for our layout. The road number is D&RGW 489, and it looks like this:
I'm not an expert when it comes to little details on the larger K series locos. What I'm wondering specifically about this model are the red colored marker/class lights.
What color should these really be? Clear?
Also I noticed the tender back up light does not have a visor. I've seen this in a few photos both vintage and modern day on a few of the K-36 locos. Is this also accurate?
I plan on painting the tender steps and rerails silver/aluminum. I'm also wondering if I should paint the counterweights black.
