But next year IS a special occasion - actually TWO special occasions:
1) The 40^th Anniversary* of the first C&TS train into Chama - 9/6/70.**
2) The 60^th Anniversary of #489's Season in Green - Memorial Day to
mid- or late Autumn, 1950.

IMHO, re-creating the latter helps celebrate the former.

* I'm very pleased that Alan, Jay and Roger have instigated a celebration on Labor Day Weekend next year. Several of us who were there in September, 1970, may not be around to help celebrate the 50^th Anniversary ...

** IIRC, the first C&TS passenger trains were run during the summer of 1971. The first "Photo Freight" was the 'Toltec Rattler' on 10/22/72.
