Growing Up On The D&RGW

Yes, I know I said it 100 times, but I really did spend the first 5 years of my life living in an outfit car on the D&RGW. My Father, Elton Albers, worked mostly the standard gauge. This is a picture of Dad and I on the steps of that car.

This one was taken in Salida while Dad was working with the crew turning the Monarch branch to standard gauge

I have no idea where this picture was taken.....but I had a whole rail yard as my playground, and real railroad cars to play with. Since we moved every few weeks, there was always a new "playground" for me.
