Notation reads: “Cornell on phone Lava 3:30 AM, got Bennett’s head engine and 9 cars out at 2:00 AM, men now shoveling on other engine and cars, expect all to be out by 5:30 or 6:00 AM, Cornell and entire crew released at Lava 3:10 AM until 6:10 AM, then have to go up to 295 and plow out to rear Bennett’s train that is out on fill west of stuck engine and cars that are shoveling out, wind has gone down some and no snow drifting.”
