Well, we dropped the trailer on Guenella at the trail head. ATVs the rest of the way. But I could get a 2 wheel drive up to Waldorf. The road to Pavilion Point looks good from the staring point from the Guenella end. I think the fireplace is still there, but nothing else remains. But has been many years since I went down that way. I would not go any further past there. We drove to the top of McClelan. We also drove all the way to the end of the trail into the bowl below Argentine Pass. The Argentine Mining District has many mines in it (over 100). Major mines have been listed already. But many more are smaller. So far I have not found any that are still open/working. And not that I would go in
ANY mine, there are no open tunnels. I ran out of time and didn't get to the Santiago. But that is on the list likely for next Monday. The flowers were more than I have ever seen. Also note that Clear Creek Open Space has secured some grants and will be buying land along the old ROW from Silver Plum to keep the trail open. Not sure how far they plan to buy. I will have to try to get picture posted. The lightning has been bad tonight in Golden, and the computer has been off, so I have not been able to post the pictures.
