Nobody said (at least I didn't) we couldn't run a charter (or an extra) because of lack of motive power. I SAID (here I go yelling again) we shouldn't run a special train on one of the busiest days of the year, motive power or not. When 1000 people hit this place at one time, the schedules go to pot, I'm thrilled if we get out of town with 15 minutes of schedule, am even more thrilled if the whole works gets tied up by dark. Throwing another train running against the hog law (because the fans want runbys too - which take lots of valuable time) when you haven't got a chance in hell of making the meets work, is not smart.
Another point.... Nobody is paying big bucks for this. If we have power trouble, we'll cut this back. Other than a few caboose refunds, we're not out any money. Somebody else put this is in the schedule, I'm trying to make worth while for someone to come see it. If you don't want to show up, DON'T. But don't bitch because we never do anything for the fans.
