I know about the C-22 designation. I put it there.
Lindsey came out one day and said that the locomotive would come in the D&RGW designation as a C-22. I was repainting the Aluminum striping on the 44 at that time. So, I thought "Why Not?" and just took my brush and painted C-22 on the front corner of the cab on the Fireman's side of the 44. I took care of the Engineer's side on the next trip up the Hill.
The Lettering took about 30 seconds. (chisel point brushes help a lot).
I agree, though, that B-4-G is much more historic and relevant to the Loop.
Oh well, those days on the Loop are long over.
