Since the topic here is Knotts and their ability to do a very good job restoring and maintaining Colorado narrow gauge equipment, why were they unhappy with 464? The last time I saw 464 was while it was stored in the back lot at Knotts in approximately 1984. I'm curious to learn if the locomotive was a problem for Knotts. One person told me it beat up the track. Another person told me Knotts could not operate the locomotive in California without numerous changes required to comply with State regulations.
