I agree with you, Earl. That recording (which I have transferred to .wav and mp3 files from the LP) is one of the most awesome steam recordings ever. I'm sure a long-time steam hand like you could spend hours analyzing every single sound out of that recording. You have to wonder what the rail on that curve looked like after all of that slipping. I would think that the engineers got a real workout with all of that throttle opening and shutting--not to mention the fireman that probably got their fires turned completely over a few times. Any comments from a long-time engineer about that, Earl?
Also, out of curiosity, are you down Arizona way or up in Alamosa these days?
