Earl,
In one of my Reading Co. books there is a picture of one of the Reading engines that blew up most damge was at smokebox end, making the loco look like spagetty hangin out the front, cab damage was minor ash pan blew off the bottom and fire box door blew into tender and tore appliances off top of boiler but most damage was front end.
need to see if I can find the picture, also failure was due to clogged water glass.
