Re: Non-historically-correct rock ballast!

Any idea how long it will take for the improved track to pay for itself in terms of reduced maintenance on the rolling stock and especially the locomotives? Also, IIRC, trips have been shortened by about 1/2 hour under what they used to be - maybe more. Less rockin'-&-rollin' is all-in-all a very GOOD thing for the railroad.

I'm thankful we still have the clickity-clack - at least until the welded rail shows up in 2016 or '17. eye rolling smiley
