When I visited in 1998 FEGUA had just closed. STeam was stored in Zacapa and Guatemala City. Not sure what was left on west side? We also visited El Salavador which had two locos in steam at San Salvador for charters. Some more was stored at another city which I can't remember right now. When we returned in 2001 to El Salvador only 3 locos still existed at the shop we visited. There had been at least 5 in 1998. Evidence of recent movement of the locos was seen where they had been sitting for years. I suspect a few were scrapped. This is what happened in the 70's when the Governments needed money for the Civil Wars and scrapped old steam locos to buy bullets.
