I vaguely remember a small volume, now buried deep in my collection of railroad memorabilia, entitled 'Slim Rails Through the Sand, which included a photo showed an excursion on the S.P. Narrow Gauge consisting of an engine, three or four open gondolas, and the combine-kibutz. The gons were referred to as 'Chick Sales' cars, as IIRC each of them was equipped with an outhouse in one (or both?) of the corners ...
