It wasn't common for the D&RGW to stamp whistles with the engine number, although I have seen a brass cast 5-chime stamped with a punch "169".

The 5 chime on 487 once got a trip through the paint stripper and "784" - T-29 came visible.

453 did have a 5 chime whistle at the end.
