After the death of Mr. Kyle, Lynn Cecil became president of Kyle Rys. When Lynn retired, he sold his share of the company to Statesrail, another shortline operating company. Statesrail had no interest in passenger operations, with the exception of the LK&P in Hawaii which at the time made an insane amount of money. Statesrail kept the LK&P but got rid of the California Western, C&TS, and Yreka Western.
The Kyle people were good to work for. I honestly believe they did the best they could with what they had. Willis and Lynn ran the C&TS because they believed in what it stood for - not to make a load of cash.
