Since Earl stated that Gail Cunningham fired the 484 for Eldton Morgan eastbound, that would leave Jim Shawcroft to fire the 498 for the mystery man.
Don Gibbs was the engineer on the 483 westbound out of Chama. Presumably the fireman who went east with him earlier returned.
