The CM Jull was used at least once on the D&RG.
February 26, 1899, Sunday
At Leadville yesterday the Denver and Rio Grande had the use of one of the Colorado Midland rotaries. A peculiar state of affairs existed. The Grande has not a single rotary on the east side of the range and the big Jull on the Midland was snowed in at Busk. But on the west side, the Midland had a Jull that could be spared, but how to get them over the hill was the question. The Rio Grande came to the relief on a mutual benefit scheme. If the Midland would being its plow to the east side of the range and permit the Rio Grande to use it on the way over the latter road would pay all cost of transportation over its line and then turn it over to the Midland. This offer was accepted, as it was considered entirely too risky to leave Leadville unprotected and so the prospects of keeping the tracks open last night was somewhat better than in the morning, but a fierce storm was raging, the wires said, and that may have made too much work for the roads before morning.
