I think this guy is a bit over the edge, although entertaining. Being a fan of Beebe. I can see the glint in his eye in most pictures of him, that seems to convey his opinion on the subject of his writing, "Nothing is more boring than reality, so if I add some embellishments along the way, and some people buy the books, and the publishers pay me handsomely, everybody is happy." His prose and bending of the truth was an art, and meant as entertainment, not history.
I do enjoy these storys by whomever that describe the adventures of railway travel two centuries ago. Good reading Dave. It's good to see the Grandts still serving the railfans, for what. a half a century now? Thanks Dave.
