Guys, it was indeed the leading truck of the first dome car that derailed. I'm sure it was a delicate operation to rerail. Still, I heared #18 whisling into Alamosa just a couple hours after our train returned. I was told #18's whistle is from a PRR loco. Sounded good to this easterner.

And one year on the G&Q, one truck of a boxcar derailed on the middle level of the Devil's Nose. Many were riding on top & we were VERY lucky the car remained upright. Wood blocks & rocks had us back on track within an hour.
