Hi
I did the trip last year, as described from Russo Loco.
But we stayed at the Chama Station Inn instead, it's a fine place too.
Both part of the trip is interesting, but you get most different landscape on the eastern part. Dessert, mountain and the two tunnels.
But then agin, you must not miss to see Chama, with its enginehouse, coaltower, watertank, many differen cars and locomotives, and the almost original old-fashioned railroad atmosphere.
Next time I visit C&T I will do the the trip from the Chama end, to experience a dobbleheader on its way up to Cumbres.
