By services, I meant things like bellhops, valets, an in-hotel restaurant, room service, etc. I travel frequently and economically, so I don't value those things. I own roller-bags, so I don't need the services of bellhops. On the other hand, some retirees require bellhops because they're no longer capable of transporting their own luggage themselves between their car and their hotel room.
HIEs have a complementary breakfast buffet, but you have to serve it to yourself. I'm fine with that, others prefer full table service. Similarly, you can get dinner delivered to your room, but you have to call a pizzeria or other local restaurant that delivers. That's fine for me, but not good enough for a lot of travelers.
